Never Alone
by Rodney Belcher

I feel you in the morning
When at first I awake
Your thought is with me
With each decision I make

You'd been around forever
Since the first breath I took
Now I have to go on alone
But for love, I need not look

Cause by what you bestowed
In our short time together
Will last in my heart
Forever and ever

Although you've left
And now walk above
I'm never alone
I'm wrapped in your love

Enjoy now your long awaited reward
Feel peace that your love continues on
What was taught to me, will be taught to mine
Cause you live on in me even after you've gone

  • Interests:I love writing, creation, art and music, especially the piano. I dream of being published someday. My father taught me to follow my dreams and never give up. Right now, my interests are story-writing, and making time for me. Nurturing myself. I'm so glad to have you, my new family.

Oh, this poem...sad.gif

It embodies everything that I want to do with my grief. I want to teach what my father taught me. I want to feel him around me each day, I want his help in deciding things.

This poem really, really touches my heart. It makes me cry, but it makes me want to come back to read it, again and again.

Thank you for posting.

take care,

Chai

Nay—Nature is Heaven. "

i'm glad you enjoyed this poem Chai cuz i sure do. i want the same from my mom every day. i just don't want to have to decide things on my own all the time now. it's over powering to me to have to decide things that i should have to at this point in my life, all this should come so much later in life.
